Electric Vehicles- The Inevitable future of the Transport Industry

The era of electric vehicles has arrived and with global CO2 emissions continuing to rise, it has become inevitable to switch to Electric Vehicles (EVs). Besides, other factors like rising fuel prices and pollution have prompted governments around the world to implement policies that will facilitate the faster adoption of EVs. As the name suggests, EVs are run on electricity through batteries and don't emit any smoke. Thus, this reduces the dependence on fuel as well.

The use of Electric Vehicles is beneficial for humans in the long run. CO2 emissions are at an all-time high, with vehicles that run on petrol and diesel contributing the most. In 2020 alone the global CO2 emissions were 34.81 Billion Metric Tons. Electric Vehicles on the other hand produce zero emissions. It is environmentally friendly and releases no pollutants. The batteries used to operate EVs can be easily recycled and they have fewer maintenance requirements than typical petrol or diesel vehicles. As a result, the annual cost of operating an electric vehicle is quite low. Furthermore, the chargers of EVs are mobile; this makes it easy for users to charge the vehicle from home as well.

Electric vehicles have fewer moving parts than internal combustion vehicles, resulting in lower maintenance costs. Electric vehicles are more fuel-efficient and when combined with the cost of energy, charging an electric vehicle is less expensive than filling up a petrol or diesel vehicle for your travel needs. Because there is no engine beneath the hood, electric vehicles can operate in complete silence; this significantly reduces the noise pollution on the road.

The advantages of driving an electric vehicle are obvious. It is indeed an inevitable future of the transport industry with exciting new technologies presently being researched that promise to reduce charging times to minutes and improve safety and automation features.
