4 Tech Myths that you need to debunk!

Myths have always been there in technology, and the harsh fact is, these myths spread like a wildfire. Some people still believe in many tech myths, and today we’re going to give you a reason why you should too stop believing in these 4 myths right away.

Here are 4 tech myths that have been dominating minds since forever:

  • Cell phones cause brain cancer

This popular myth that exploded around the turn of the century was that cell phones were drastically increasing the likelihood and risk of brain cancer. The myth says having a device pumping electromagnetic waves right next to your head was sure to cause cancer. If that were the case we would be seeing a great surge in brain tumor rates right around now to coincide with the extended and widespread use of smartphones worldwide. However, no increase in brain tumors and no link to cell phones has been established yet. And that’s why we need to bust this myth right away.

  • More RAM means better performance

There are a lot of people who think that a higher amount of RAM in a device results in a great performance, and that’s why end up buying the device based solely on higher RAM. However, for smooth performance, there are various factors responsible instead of just RAM. Hence, a device can’t be entirely judged based on the amount of RAM it has. Actually, a higher amount of RAM can hold more applications in the background when compared to a device with lesser RAM. So, while selecting your next smartphone consider comparing things like SOC and GPU.

  •  Installing antivirus software gives you 100% protection against viruses

As soon as we buy a new PC or laptop, we install the latest antivirus thinking it will protect us against viruses. Although this software is effective in removing viruses from your computer system, you can’t totally rely on them completely as every day a new type of virus tries to attack our system.

  • Overnight charging leads to a battery explosion

This myth came to existence after a few smartphones blew off while charging. This common misconception was all over people’s minds because of which they stopped charging their smartphones overnight. But is it the case? The simplest answer to this question is a big fat ‘No’. The modern smartphone comes with smart circuits that cut off power as soon as the battery hits the 100% mark. So, it doesn’t matter if you charge your phone for 2 hours or 10 hours, your phone’s battery will never explode because of overcharging.

These were some common myths which many people still believe in. Did you bust these myths?
